Bill Schwob is a nationally know photographer based in Emeryville California, specializing in product photography. Some of his best known work has been in the Sharper Image catalog as well as Birkenstock Shoes and many others.

Bill was gone for a week last month, which is unusual for him, so when he returned there were 4 new sculptures in his studio that sparked the conversation were having today.

Bill and i talk about his sculptures and his still photography and how the two disciplines relate to one another. I was curious where this aspect of art developed in him since all I ever knew was the photographic side of his work.

Roy and I have been friends for a long time and I have always been a fan of his images. Roy conceives his images differently than I have ever experienced in any other photographer. So much so that I wanted to record a conversation with him to better understand where his creativity began and how it developed.

Roy has worked almost exclusively with the Holga camera and his work does include both conventional film processing and digital post processing in some very unique ways. However our conversation today will focus on the creative side.
